Congresswoman Ashley Hinson has strongly criticized President Biden and sanctuary city jurisdictions for their role in allowing criminal aliens to roam freely in the United States, leading to tragic incidents such as the murder of University of Georgia nursing student Laken Riley. Hinson expressed her dismay, stating, "Laken Riley should be alive today. This was a preventable tragedy; her blood is on the hands of President Biden and sanctuary city jurisdictions who carelessly released this criminal alien into our communities."
Hinson highlighted the broader implications of Biden's open border policies, citing several disturbing cases of violence committed by illegal immigrants across various states. She pointed out, "The consequences of Biden’s open border policies are deadly, and Laken Riley isn’t the only victim." Hinson mentioned instances like the arrest of an illegal immigrant in Louisiana for rape and murder, as well as cases in DC and Virginia involving serious crimes against minors.
The Congresswoman also empathized with the families of the victims, emphasizing the pain and devastation they must be experiencing. She criticized Biden for failing to take decisive action to secure the border, allowing dangerous individuals like Jose Antonio Ibarra to enter the country and perpetrate heinous crimes. Hinson called on Biden to take concrete steps to address the border crisis, including reinstating Remain in Mexico, resuming wall construction, and ending catch and release policies.
In a direct challenge to President Biden, Hinson urged him to make his visit to the Southern Border more than just a symbolic gesture during an election year. She demanded that Biden prioritize the safety and security of American citizens by implementing measures to prevent violent criminals from illegally entering the country. Hinson warned, "There is no question that American lives are on the line if Joe Biden doesn’t secure the border. The only question is, does he care enough to do something about it?"
