Mount Vernon median home prices rose by 43.8% in the first half of 2022

The median sale price of a home sold in the first half of 2022 in Mount Vernon rose by $86,750 while total sales decreased by 53.1 percent, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through June, there were 15 homes sold, with a median sale price of $285,000 - a 43.8 percent increase over the $198,250 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 32 homes sold in Mount Vernon in the first half of 2021.

The median sales tax in Mount Vernon for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $3,654, approximately 1.3 percent of the median home sale price for the first half of 2022.
