Rising home prices in Mount Vernon in the third quarter of 2021

The median sale price of a home sold in the third quarter of 2021 in Mount Vernon rose by $81,750 while total sales increased by 50%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through September of 2021, there were 30 homes sold, with a median sale price of $264,500 - a 44.7% increase over the $182,750 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 20 homes sold in Mount Vernon in the third quarter of 2020.

The median sales tax in Mount Vernon for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $3,654, approximately 1.4% of the median home sale price for the third quarter of 2021.
