Cedar Rapids median home prices rose by 3.6% in the third quarter of 2021

The median sale price of a home sold in the third quarter of 2021 in Cedar Rapids rose by $5,500 while total sales increased by 41.5%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through September of 2021, there were 859 homes sold, with a median sale price of $156,500 - a 3.6% increase over the $151,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 607 homes sold in Cedar Rapids in the third quarter of 2020.

The median sales tax in Cedar Rapids for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $2,561, approximately 1.6% of the median home sale price for the third quarter of 2021.
