63 percent of applicants to Mount Mercy University were admitted for fall 2018

At Mount Mercy University, 68 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 69 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Cedar Rapids enrolled 1,835 students in fall 2018, including 1,501 in undergraduate and 334 in graduate programs, data shows. 15.5 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

79 percent of undergraduates are residents of Iowa, and 18 percent are residents of other states. 3 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (77 percent) and Black or African American (8 percent).

The school admitted 63 percent of the 1,409 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 27 percent enrolled.
