Cedar Rapids home prices unchanged in the first quarter of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the first quarter of 2017 in Cedar Rapids was unchanged while total sales decreased by 14.1%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through March of 2017, there were 487 homes sold, with a median sale price of $117,500. There were 567 homes sold in Cedar Rapids in the first quarter of 2016, and the median sales price for the period was also $117,500.

The median sales tax in Cedar Rapids for 2017 was $2,557. In 2016, the median sales tax was $2,584. This marks an decrease of 1%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.2%.
