Marion home prices rise in the first quarter of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the first quarter of 2018 in Marion rose by $23,000 while total sales decreased by 11.2%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through March of 2018, there were 175 homes sold, with a median sale price of $185,000 - a 14.2% increase over the $162,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 197 homes sold in Marion in the first quarter of 2017.

The median sales tax in Marion for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $3,255, approximately 1.8% of the median home sale price for the first quarter of 2018.
