Cedar Rapids home prices rise in the third quarter of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the third quarter of 2018 in Cedar Rapids rose by $16,450 while total sales increased by 17.8%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through September of 2018, there were 776 homes sold, with a median sale price of $143,450 - a 13% increase over the $127,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 659 homes sold in Cedar Rapids in the third quarter of 2017.

The median sales tax in Cedar Rapids for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $2,557, approximately 1.8% of the median home sale price for the third quarter of 2018.
