Cedar Rapids home prices fall in the fourth quarter of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the fourth quarter of 2018 in Cedar Rapids fell by $875 while total sales decreased by 6.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From October through December of 2018, there were 642 homes sold, with a median sale price of $135,000 - a 0.6% decrease over the $135,875 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 685 homes sold in Cedar Rapids in the fourth quarter of 2017.

The median sales tax in Cedar Rapids for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $2,557, approximately 1.9% of the median home sale price for the fourth quarter of 2018.
