Marion home prices rise in April 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in April 2017 in Marion rose by $37,010 while total sales increased by 2.5%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In April 2017, there were 81 homes sold, with a median sale price of $169,900 - a 27.9% increase over the $132,890 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 79 homes sold in Marion in April 2016.

The median sales tax in Marion for 2017 was $3,255. In 2016, the median sales tax was $3,170. This marks an increase of 2.7%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 1.9%.
