Marion home prices fall in December 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in December 2017 in Marion fell by $31,200 while total sales decreased by 14.9%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In December 2017, there were 74 homes sold, with a median sale price of $140,200 - a 18.2% decrease over the $171,400 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 87 homes sold in Marion in December 2016.

The median sales tax in Marion for 2017 was $3,255. In 2016, the median sales tax was $3,170. This marks an increase of 2.7%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.3%.
