The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued an emergency waiver allowing the continued sale of E15 fuel nationwide during the summer months. Congresswoman Ashley Hinson of Iowa's 2nd District has expressed her gratitude toward the Trump Administration for honoring its commitments to Iowa's agricultural and biofuel sectors.
"I want to extend a huge thank you to the Trump Administration for following through on its commitments to Iowa farmers & biofuels producers by allowing the sale of E15 this summer nationwide," remarked Congresswoman Hinson. She emphasized her recent advocacy efforts, stating, "I recently led a letter urging the administration to ensure E15 could be sold across the country this summer, and I'm thrilled to see them take this crucial step. I will continue working with the administration to expand the use of biofuels to achieve American energy dominance and get a permanent solution across the finish line for the benefit of producers and consumers alike."
Known for her leadership role in promoting higher ethanol blends, including E15, Rep. Hinson spearheaded a recent letter with fellow Representatives Adrian Smith, Angie Craig, and Mark Pocan. They collectively urged the President to permit E15 sales throughout the summer driving season. In addition to this initiative, Rep. Hinson has actively participated in legislative efforts aimed at increasing biofuel usage and pursuing energy independence in the United States.
Included in these efforts is a letter sent to EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin, advocating for support of the Renewable Fuel Standard and calling for the removal of regulatory hurdles that hinder the growth of the biofuel industry. Furthermore, Rep. Hinson helped introduce the Nationwide Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act, which seeks to facilitate year-round availability of E15 fuel across the country.
