Congresswoman Ashley Hinson has been honored with the Guardian of Small Business Award by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), an association representing small businesses across the United States.
"Small businesses account for 99% of businesses in Iowa and employ more than 50 percent of the workers in our state. I am honored to be recognized by the NFIB for my work to advocate for Iowa’s small business community. Fighting inflation, building a strong workforce, and cutting government red tape are key to supporting Main Street businesses, and I'll continue to be a strong voice for Iowa small business owners and workers in Congress," said Congresswoman Hinson.
Brad Close, President of NFIB, stated, "The NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award is presented to Members of Congress with a demonstrated record of supporting America’s small and independent business owners. This Congress, small businesses faced tough economic headwinds, especially from inflation, burdensome regulations, and threats of tax hikes at all levels of the government. We are proud to recognize the lawmakers from the 118th Congress, including Representative Hinson, who stood up for Main Street by taking pro-small business votes that would reduce taxes, eliminate burdensome government mandates, lower health insurance costs, and fuel the Main Street economy."
Hinson has actively supported several initiatives aimed at aiding small businesses. She spearheaded the Main Street Tax Cut Certainty Act to make essential tax cuts permanent for small enterprises. Additionally, she introduced her Workforce Innovation & Empowerment Package to help connect Iowa workers with local economic opportunities. Furthermore, she led the Red Tape Reduction Act to codify Trump-era deregulation policies ensuring two regulations are cut for every new one enacted.
