Washington, DC - Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IA-02) released a statement on the second anniversary of Roe v. Wade being overturned.
"Countless lives have been saved since Roe v. Wade was overturned. The pro-life movement was never just about ending abortion; it has always been about helping women choose life and saving as many lives as possible. I'm proud to have championed legislation to expand access to maternal care, improve resources for pregnant women, end stillbirth, protect pregnant students on campus, and increase the Child Tax Credit for working families. I will continue working to save the lives of moms and babies, support expecting women, and help families thrive," said Congresswoman Hinson.
Background:
Hinson introduced the Providing for Life Act, a comprehensive pro-family plan.
Hinson's Maternal and Child Stillbirth Prevention Act has passed both the House and Senate and is awaiting President Biden's signature. This legislation aims to expand stillbirth prevention resources.
Hinson's Pregnant Students Rights Act passed the House earlier this year. This legislation seeks to empower pregnant women on college campuses to complete their studies while choosing life and ensuring they have necessary resources and accommodations.
Hinson has also introduced the Midwives for Moms Act, which aims to bring more trained midwives to rural communities.
