Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IA-02) addressed the House Floor to highlight Iowa's recent recognition in the U.S. News & World Report's 2024 Best State Rankings, where it was named the 6th best state to live and the 3rd best state for opportunities.

"I was born and raised in Iowa. I have always known it was the place I wanted to live and raise my family," Hinson stated.

"Recently, the U.S. World and News Report caught up to what Iowans have known for a long time and officially ranked Iowa as one of the best states to live. They also ranked Iowa third for new opportunities."

Hinson attributed much of this success to Governor Kim Reynolds' leadership, contrasting it with national policies.

"Under Governor Kim Reynolds, Iowa is flourishing," she said. "While Biden spent trillions of taxpayer dollars on woke priorities and created rampant inflation, Iowa cut taxes for families."

She further criticized federal immigration policies while praising state-level actions: "While Biden opened our borders and allowed countless illegal immigrants to invade, Iowa is working to deport illegals who endanger our communities."

Concluding her remarks, Hinson asserted that "Iowa is a model for the rest of the country. Our prosperity under Governor Reynolds is the perfect contrast to Joe Biden’s national failures."

"Iowa is leading the way with commonsense conservatism, and our future is bright," she added.
