Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IA-02) recently appeared on "The Bottom Line" on Fox Business to discuss the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) alleged attempts to infiltrate U.S. academic institutions and influence American students. The CCP, according to Hinson, is funding trips for Iowa students to China and attempting to establish a presence in American classrooms and colleges.
Hinson emphasized that the committee she is part of is thoroughly investigating these allegations. She quoted Xi Jinping's aim of inviting 50,000 American students to China in the upcoming years, suggesting that this initiative is not merely a benevolent gesture.
"We're just scratching the surface here on the Chinese Communist Party's propaganda, and our committee is absolutely looking into this. You mentioned Xi Jinping's goal of having 50,000 American students come over to China in the coming years. This is not just out of the goodness of his heart," said Hinson.
She further claimed that the CCP’s Ministry of Education also serves as their Ministry of Propaganda. Their objective, she alleges, is to erase any evidence or memory of genocide and oppression within China while simultaneously infiltrating U.S. universities and academic institutions with an intent to steal intellectual property.
“This is their Ministry of Education, a.k.a their Ministry of Propaganda. They want to wash away all of the genocide that's happening, the oppression of the Chinese people, meanwhile, they're trying to sneak into our universities and our academic institutions to steal our intellectual property with this influence campaign. We need to be eyes wide open about this and see it for what it really is," stated Congresswoman Ashley Hinson.
