WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (R-IA-02) strongly criticized President Biden's foreign policy approach in a recent statement on national security legislation. Hinson expressed concerns about the global aggression invited by Biden's perceived weakness, particularly from adversaries such as Putin, Iran, and Xi.
Highlighting the importance of strategic decision-making, Hinson stated, "One of the best things Donald Trump did as President was not starting another foreign war. By contrast, Joe Biden is blindly leading us into World War III with his daily gaffes, missteps, and spineless rhetoric."
The Congresswoman emphasized the significance of providing lethal military equipment to allies, standing up to enemies, and prioritizing the replenishment of U.S. military stockpiles with strict oversight. She believes that these measures, outlined in the deterrence package, are essential to keeping America out of conflict and safeguarding national security. Hinson concluded by asserting the need for a change in leadership at the White House to restore peace through strength.
The national security legislation proposed by Hinson includes provisions aimed at confronting Iran, Putin, and China. It involves replenishing critical missile defense systems like the Iron Dome, Iron Beam, and David’s Sling, supporting U.S. military operations against Iranian-backed terror, and providing military assistance to Ukraine in its resistance against Putin's aggression.
Additionally, the legislation allocates significant funds for various defense purposes, enhances security cooperation with regional partners, strengthens deterrence against Beijing's military provocations, and invests in submarine infrastructure and munitions production in the Indo-Pacific. The bill also imposes measures such as forcing TikTok to sever ties with Communist China and directing the transfer of frozen Russian assets to Ukraine.
Moreover, the legislation emphasizes transparency and oversight by mandating the submission of an end-game strategy for Ukraine, implementing monitoring and repayment agreements for economic assistance to Ukraine, and ensuring humanitarian aid does not reach terrorist groups.
Congresswoman Hinson's statement underscores the ongoing debates and efforts within the U.S. government to address national security challenges and assert American interests on the global stage.
