The City of Cedar Rapids Community Development Department has opened the Historic Rehab Program for properties located within the city’s two local historic districts, the 2nd and 3rd Ave Historic District and the Redmond Park – Grande Ave Historic District, and its seven local landmarks.
Annually, the City allocates over $75,000 to exterior rehab projects that align with the historic design guidelines set forth by the Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) to help maintain the historic integrity of properties and local landmarks. Projects can include painting, wood window repair or replacement, wood siding or replacement, roofing, or other miscellaneous exterior repairs.
Individual properties are eligible for up $10,000 in funding. Applications can be found at the following link and are due by Friday, May 26, and can be emailed to hpreview@cedar-rapids.org or mailed to:
