Water and Sewer Rate Increase
The proposed budget for 23’/24’ has a rate increase for water and sewer. We look to evaluate our rates every two years and work hard to keep our rates and increases as manageable for the customers as possible. Since our last rate increase in mid 21’ we have seen our chemical and equipment cost continue to increase at rates we hadn’t seen before. We have now seen a stabilization in the pricing which is reflected in the proposed water and sewer rate increase.
What is being budgeted is that the flat fee for water increasing $ 2.51 per month from $11.99 to $14.50 and cost of 1,000 gallons of water to increase $.08 from $2.65 to $2.73.
On the Sewer side we are proposing an increase of $ .66 from $12.84 to $ 3.50 on the flat fee and the 1,000 based on water usage to increase $.09 from $3.00 to $3.09.
For a resident using 4,000 gallons a month the increase would be estimated at $ 3.85 per month, for 7,000 gallons $ 4.36 per month and a large user of 10,000 gallons $ 4.87 per month increase. Storm Water along with Trash and Recycling rates will remain the same. Should the rates be adopted they would take effect on
July 1 of 23’ with your bill in August of 23’ being the first with the new rates.
