Center Point Road NE from Coe Road to Lincoln Avenue Construction Update | December 22

The contractor has been finishing concrete work, erecting signage, backfilling dirt, placing temporary seeding, and doing general clean up for over the past few weeks. Work has been suspended for the winter, and the following is in effect:

  • Center Point Road remains one-way, southbound;
  • All traffic is traveling in one lane in the eastern half of pavement;
  • The western half of pavement is blocked off from Lincoln Avenue to F Avenue;
  • All side streets and driveways are open.
The project will resume in the spring when weather allows, with full completion in spring. This will include the remaining western half of pavement from Lake Street to Lincoln Avenue, sidewalks, and permanent pavement markings. including the one-way to two-way conversion from F Avenue to J Avenue.

Additionally, a project to reconstruct the section from Lincoln Avenue to J Avenue will be bid in early 2023 for construction to begin after July 1, 2023. This project will be constructed across two construction seasons, with completion anticipated in the fall of 2024.

Tower Terrace Road NE Open

Tower Terrace Road NE now has two lanes of traffic open from Miller Road east to North Center Point Road. Drivers should use caution along the entire length of roadway due to continued construction. There will be lane shifts on both ends of the project to bring drivers into the eastbound lanes for 2-way traffic. This is required, as the new south interchange bridge is not completed. The speed limit will be 25 MPH until all construction is complete.

Please note that there is NO interstate access from Tower Terrace Road until spring 2023.

Traffic on Tower Terrace Road may experience some delays due to continued construction. All work is anticipated to last until spring or early summer 2023, weather pending.

Any questions should be directed to the Hiawatha Engineering Department at 319-393-1515, ext. 528.
