Marion to Host Iowa Certified Construction Site Pollution Prevention Inspector Training

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources requires that most construction sites in Marion and the Cedar Rapids metropolitan area have qualified personnel who ensure compliance with the Clean Water Act. Qualified personnel can be home builders, developers, contractors, realtors, and others who are certified and responsible for stormwater pollution prevention on construction sites.

The City of Marion is holding an Iowa Certified Construction Site Pollution Prevention Inspector (ICCSPPI) training session at the Lowe Park Arts & Environment Center on Dec. 8, 2022. Those that are certified are recognized statewide for their credentials to conduct pollution prevention inspections at construction sites.

The training is from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and includes a written exam at the end. For those already ICCSPPI certified, this course also counts toward recertification. Those recertifying will only need to attend the first half of the training session and do not have to take the written exam.

Lunch will be provided for all attendees.
