Uptown Getdown Returns to City Square on August 4

Uptown Getdown will kick off the 2022 season on August 4. The series, held each Thursday night in August, will return to City Square Park after being in different locations the past two years. Enjoy live music, great food, and family fun at this free community event.

Flatland Ridge will start off the series with country, classic rock, and pop hits August 4. Trophy Dads takes the stage on August 11, just some dads rockin out. The Schmidt Brothers debut at Uptown Getdown on August 18 featuring many genres but specializing in 80’s rock. The series will conclude with The Ice Breakers on August 25 bringing classic sounds of rock, soul, funk and blues.

Hy-Vee Marion will offer a variety of food options for purchase. Attendees should bring chairs or blankets, coolers are welcome. Pets are not allowed in the park during this event. Additional accessible parking will be available in the former library lot at the corner of 6th Avenue and 10th Street.

Admission is free to the public thanks to these Marion Chamber Platinum Community Partners – Farmers State Bank, ImOn Communications, MercyCare Community Physicians, Summit Pointe Senior Living, and Z102.9 The event is produced by the Marion Chamber of Commerce and Uptown Marion with support from the City of Marion Hotel/Motel Fund.

Thursday, August 18                        Schmidt Brothers, intermission performance by Linn-Mar Poms

Thursday, August 25                        The Ice Breakers, intermission performance by Prestige Dance Studio
