The City of Washington, Elm Grove, and Woodlawn Cemeteries would like to announce that we have recently completed building our online cemetery burial search. You may find the burial search at cityofwashington.ia.govern.com or go to the City’s website https://washingtoniowa.gov, click on City Government, then click on Cemetery, where you will find a link. We ask you to be patient, as we will continue to add information to our databases. We currently only have Elm Grove records in our system. We will be adding Woodlawn records in the future.
In the search, you are able to search by last name, first name, year of burial, or veteran status. Once a person is located in the search, you can see the information we have for the individual, print their record, and are able to locate the burial plot on a map. If you have corrections (spelling, dates, military service, etc.) to any records, please email them to me, so that I can make the necessary changes. Please let me know if you have questions.
