Marion Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.
A life-long dedication to music has led Kari Sicard to seeing her dreams come true, owning Just Make Music. The music studio will celebrate its 1-year Anniversary with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, March 3 at 11:30 am at 685 9th Avenue, Marion.
Sicard, who holds a degree in Music Education and Piano Performance, has been teaching music lessons as an independent contractor for the past 29 years. She seized an opportunity to open her own studio in March 2021.
“I have never NOT been teaching and wanted to continue providing lessons during the pandemic,” said Sicard. “It’s been wonderful to provide a space where students can learn and have an emotional outlet by using their music.”
She’s not doing it alone. Just Make Music has eight private instructors, many of whom have been teaching together for over 20 years. This allows the studio to offer a wide range of lessons including piano, guitar, percussion, woodwind, string, and brass instruments.
“No matter what type of private lessons our students are in search of, they can expect the highest quality education,” added Sicard. “Students can also expect to have fun and be challenged at the same time.”
As for the name, Sicard says recitals always cause nerves. She tells her students that no matter what happens, they should always “Just Make Music”. For more information visit justmakemusic.org or call 319-533-5828.
