Kalona goes to the fair!
Kalona has made its presence known in Des Moines at the Iowa State Fair since 1985. Local persons and businesses invest hours every year to showcase the treasures that people can find if they visit Kalona, IA.
What began as handing out pamphlets and bread samples, evolved into a true “taste of Kalona” with fresh baked cinnamon rolls, locally made jellies, noodles, quilts, crafts and more specialty items from Kalona.
Over 1 million people from around the world visit the Iowa State Fair to see what Iowa has to offer. We are grateful to continue sharing what a special place we have here in Southeast Iowa. If you would like more information on how to participate with this year’s fair, call (319)656-2660. As a token of our appreciation, fair tickets are provided for all volunteers.
