Kalona Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on July 19.
Enjoy an outdoor challenge while supporting local trails!
Movement Mayhem is a 5K or 1K obstacle course race. The event is organized by JET Physical Therapy to promote fun physical activity! Money raised from the event will be donated to the Washington County Conservation trails. They will be using the funds for enhancing the Kewash Trail and creating the North Trail Loop in Kalona. We’re excited for this new trail in Kalona and a fun way to support it!
All participants in the event are placed in a drawing to win a one year free membership to the YMCA, free pair of shoes from Brown’s Shoe in Washington, gel cold/hot pack, and JET clothing apparel. Awards for the race are given to the overall male and female winner as well as winners of each age group for male and female.
The El Gringo Loco food truck will be serving breakfast burritos after the race and Cheryl’s Ice Cream food truck will be serving homemade ice cream.
