Rising home prices in Marion in the first half of 2021

The median sale price of a home sold in the first half of 2021 in Marion rose by $24,100 while total sales increased by 6.5%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through June of 2021, there were 363 homes sold, with a median sale price of $200,000 - a 13.7% increase over the $175,900 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 341 homes sold in Marion in the first half of 2020.

The median sales tax in Marion for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $3,258, approximately 1.6% of the median home sale price for the first half of 2021.
