Republican Tony McClintock has won his election bid for District 95 House seat.
On his Facebook page, he thanked voters and his team for their support on his Facebook page.
"Let me start by saying Thank You to everyone that supported, contributed to, and assisted me and the McClintock for Iowa campaign. Without you, I would not be joining the next session of the Iowa House of Representatives in January 2021.
"Second, let me thank my family, and specifically my wife Stacy. She was truly my inspiration, motivation, and strategic advisor during this entire campaign process.
"I would like to recognize everyone in the political arena that helped me throughout the campaign. People like Louie Zumbach who provided me guidance and an invaluable endorsement... and all of our volunteers, I thank you for the time, effort and guidance put into making this campaign a success .
McClintock thanked his opponent and reassured his constituents that he will give them his all.
"Finally, I want to thank Christian Andrews- my Democratic opponent. I met Christian a few years ago when he ran against Louie. He is a man of conviction and passion when it comes to his beliefs and political goals. For my part I will do my absolute best to represent everyone in District 95 honestly and accurately."
Democratic candidate Christian Andrews who was also vying for the seat, conceded his loss.
"Unfortunately tonight we didn’t get the result we had hoped for. While we came up short, I couldn’t be prouder of the campaign we ran: to put the issues and voters first. Though this campaign is over, there is still so much work to be done. I will always be there for my community and this district, and I will continue to do everything in my power to fight for all the hardworking families across this District," he wrote on Facebook.
