Linn 4-H Club recently issued the following announcement.

| Description: | Bring just your dial gauge lid for testing. Simply drop it off before Monday, August 31 during regular business hours: M-F, 8 am - 4:30 pm. You can pick it up September 1 or after. All dial gauge National Presto pressure canners should be tested yearly for accuracy because the gauge is delicate and can easily be bumped or damaged with the user not even realizing there is a problem. If you own a weighted gauge canner, it does not need to be tested because they remain accurate. Gaskets and over pressure plugs will also be examined for recommendation to replace or not. As a reminder to those of you who can low acid foods such as vegetables and meat, the recommended pressure to use in Linn County and our surrounding counties is 11 pounds pressure For a weighted gauge use the setting of 10 pounds of pressure. | ||
