Cost of college went up for all students at Mount Mercy University

Tuition and fees rose 4.6 percent for 2018-19 at Mount Mercy University, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Iowa students paid $31,998 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $1,416 more than the $30,582 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 100 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 238 students received grants or scholarships totaling $5.6 million and 191 students took out student loans totaling more than $2.1 million.

Including all undergraduates (1,835), 1,517 students used grants or scholarships totaling $25.6 million, and 1,125 students took out $10.8 million in federal student loans.
