Cedar Rapids Parks and Recreation Department has canceled and postponed a number of events and programs due to COVID-19.

KWWL reports the Noelridge Farmers Market that was scheduled to start May 1 has been postponed while the Mother’s Day Open House at the Noelridge greenhouse scheduled for May 10 has been canceled.

Other events that have been canceled are pavilion rentals through May 15 and preseason pool pass sales at the Noelridge and Cherry Hill Aquatic Centers that were scheduled for May 2, 9 and 16.

While parks, trails and dog parks are open, restrooms and drinking fountains remain inaccessible to the public. Park attendees are urged to practice social distancing, bring hand sanitizer and their own drinking water, and carry out any trash they bring into the parks. They are advised to stay home if they are sick, have been sick in the last two weeks, are over 60 years old or have underlying health conditions.
