Mount Vernon home prices rise in 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in 2019 in Mount Vernon rose by $23,000 while total sales decreased by 21.5%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2019, there were 51 homes sold, with a median sale price of $202,000 - a 12.8% increase over the $179,000 median sale price for the previous year. There were 65 homes sold in Mount Vernon in 2018.

The median sales tax in Mount Vernon for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $3,654, approximately 1.8% of the median home sale price for 2019.
